Serving Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, North & West Vancouver
L&W Landscaping is a residential and commercial landscaping company based in Richmond, BC, serving property owners across Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, North Vancouver, and West Vancouver. We’ve been caring for Lower Mainland properties for more than 25 years, and that history shapes how we operate today.
There are a lot of landscaping companies serving the Vancouver area. Most will take on any job, send a crew, and move on to the next property. We don’t work that way.
For over 25 years, we’ve been building long-term relationships with homeowners and commercial property managers who want their properties cared for properly, not just serviced. We’re selective about the work we take on. That’s not because we can’t handle the volume, it’s because doing the job right requires genuine commitment to every client, from the first property evaluation through years of ongoing maintenance. That’s the standard we’ve held since we started, and it’s what keeps our clients coming back year after year.
Our crews handle landscape design and installation, tree and hedge trimming, lawn care, seasonal flower beds and planters, retaining walls and paving, and winter snow removal and salting for both residential and commercial properties. We offer free property evaluations and quotes on every project, so you know what to expect before any work begins.
We didn’t start as a large operation, and we didn’t grow by chasing every job that came our way. Over 25 years, we built our reputation one property at a time, through referrals from homeowners who saw the difference between a crew that shows up and a crew that actually understands their yard. That approach is slower than marketing for volume, but it’s the reason property owners across Richmond, Vancouver, Burnaby, and the North Shore have stayed with us through multiple seasons of service.
Longevity in this industry isn’t guaranteed. Landscaping is physical, seasonal work, and plenty of companies don’t make it past a few years. Staying in business for 25 years in the Lower Mainland has meant adapting to new plant varieties, to changing water restrictions, to homeowner expectations that have shifted from simply mowed lawns to properties that function as genuine outdoor living space. We’ve adapted our services along the way while keeping the same standard of care at the centre of every job.
What separates a good landscaper from a great one is knowledge. Over the past 25 years of working with Vancouver-area properties, we’ve developed an understanding of this region’s soils, microclimates, and growing conditions that most landscapers simply don’t have.
Coastal BC isn’t a single climate. A property in West Vancouver’s higher elevations sees different rainfall and drainage patterns than a lot in Richmond’s flatter, wetter terrain, and we plan differently for each one. We know which plants will thrive through a dry Fraser Valley summer and which ones won’t survive the first hard frost of a wet Lower Mainland winter. We know how our region’s mild, damp winters encourage moss and thatch buildup in lawns, and we know how European chafer beetle (an ongoing problem for Metro Vancouver lawns) shows up as spongy turf, and what it takes to treat it before it spreads. That knowledge goes into every consultation, every design decision, and every maintenance visit, not as an afterthought but as the starting point.
Two things back up everything: our standing in the industry and our accountability to clients.
We're a long-standing member of the BC Landscape and Nursery Association, the trade organization representing landscape and nursery professionals across the province, and we've maintained that membership for more than 20 years.
We're fully insured on every residential and commercial job we take on, so property owners aren't carrying the risk of the work we do on their land.
We provide free, no-obligation property evaluations and quotes, so you can see exactly what we'd recommend before committing to anything.
We serve both residential homeowners and commercial property managers across Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, North Vancouver, and West Vancouver, with the same standard of care regardless of property size.
These are the commitments that have kept our client relationships going for decades, and they’re what we’d want to know if we were hiring a landscaper for our own property.
